I like to read about how and why populations change, I like comparing housing costs and unemployment rates between cities, and so on. What is the best type of field for this type of study. I am thinking that geography, economics, and sociology all cover some aspects of it. But is one of them more suited to the other for what I describe? Thanks.
What type of major is suited for someone interested in population change?
I think sociology is probably most what you are looking for out of the three. I think you should also look at anthropology too. Developmental studies and urban studies might be options as well. Also if you are interested in a certain region you can choose area studies and you can focus on the economics, geography, and people of a specific region (ex. Latin American Studies). Also remember that most colleges allow you to design you own major and you can take the aspects from all the majors that you want and create exactly what you are looking for.
