It seems unemployment rates used to be put there constantly when they were higher... now it%26#039;s 4.4% an all-time low. when the stock market fell, that all I recall seeing... now it%26#039;s an all-time high again.
Is news media selective?
Why does good economic news not make front pages and first stories on TV news as it did before 6-10 years ago?
You are correct.... the preceding answer was very dubious. Inflation has been minimal and the huge factor she %26quot;conveniently%26quot; ignored was the enormous drop in all areas of the economy after 9/11.
This is tantamount to the point of your question. Any form of econmomic upturn in any index was touted during the Clinton years.... very often front page.... while any positive news of the Bush administration was buried on pages 3,4, 5, or 6 in major news.
Also the last two economic quarters of the Clinton administration showed the strong downside of an economic turn in the offing. Bush%26#039;s analysts knew this, and during the campaign in 2000 he even warned of the problem, but news media poo-poohed the alert and democrats charged him with fear-mongering.... ironically, their own greatest weapon throughout the last six years.

loan
The difference was that Clinton is a Democrat.
Bush is a Republican.
This media will trumpet good news for a Dem and bad news for a Republican. It is assured. Report It
|||Um...no. The economic news is not that great right now. Although many say the economy is rebounding, there are many signs that we are still in the recovery period, some even saying the recession will continue or get worse.
The stock market may be up, but adjusted for inflation, it is not higher than it was at its peak a few years ago.
I know you%26#039;d like to think some news media sources want to show the economy in a bad light to hurt Bush, but the fact is much of the facts coming out lately have not been bad.
