Don't we get what we deserve?

Why do people complain about low wages, lack of health care, low education quality or unemployment, since they have voted for those policies which result in them being even poorer?

If they are mentally unable (because surprisingly, many of them are highly educated) to consider of their own benefits, why do I have to feel sorry for them?

In my country, in the past few years the most jobs you can find are 4-hour employment. That%26#039;s a new way to minimize unemployment rates: employ more people for less hours.

Unfortunately the current political situation we are in lends itself to abuse. What was once a noble endevor has devolved into a power play for votes.

Abe Lincoln would never be able to be elected today. Not enough money, or connections. The day of the lay-politician is over.

Many politicians bank on an uninformed publis who will blindy follow them because they are being paid by the system. Why would anyone who gets welfare, food stamps, subsidised housing, free utilities, and the like vote for anyone who advocates personal responsibility. What ever happened to helping yopu family before they rely on the government.

The State of Florida has the lowesy unemployment in the nation because Gov. Bush had a welfare reform lae passed allowing welfare only for a limited period of time. Did people starve? NO - they got a job. Were they thrown out on the street? NO - they got a job.

Get the hint - policticians should help a down and out person get back on their feet and not turn them into the loyal poor.

No.

We most certainly do NOT %26quot;get what we deserve.%26quot;

And the scenario sketched out in your post is simplistic.

And most people drowning in squalor and poverty are not politically involved on any level, much less voting. Their life is a daily struggle.

Poor people have absolutely NO voice in politics, which you should know if you know ANYTHING about the American political system.

America%26#039;s system of rules is set up for the rich. Plainly and simply.|||I really think most people who get cancer or have their

home destroyed by a hurricane, don%26#039;t deserve it.

It%26#039;s time for a new government - one that is prepared for

life%26#039;s unforeseen tragedy%26#039;s.|||Not necessarily all but majority of us Yes.Rich and powerful are always able to avoid the consequences.
