Why is there a B.E.T. but a W.E.T. Would be called racist? This is because at the time BET was started the only time blacks were on TV 95% of the time they played servants and R%26amp;B and Rap weren%26#039;t played on MTV%26amp;VH1 BET IS NOW PART OF WHITE OWNED VIACOM Why is there an NAACP? NAACP was started in 1909 to help blacks transition after slavery. It is now for ALL MINORITIES and many WHITES are employed also. The NAACP IMAGE AWARDS award people, TV shows, movies, and music that promote POSITIVE images of minorities. BONO, CARLOS SANTANA, ROBIN THICKE, and numerous other NON BLACKS have been honored. KATE WALSH and numerous others have been attendees and presenters. Several high ranking NAACP members endorse HILARY CLINTON. Why do blacks always play the race card? Some black people TRULY BELIEVE that everytime something bad happens to them it was due to racism. Often they are wrong but sometimes race IS A FACTOR! There is a difference between exploiting white guilt and being paranoid. NEITHER is ACCEPTABLE but exploitation is DESPICABLE. AL SHARPTON DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ALL BLACKS!!! Jesse Jackson is also an idiot but he has done SOME good things(got American hostages freed in China, etc). However, MOST BLACKS WISH BOTH OF THEM WOULD SIT DOWN AND SHUT THE F*CK UP!! Why dont blacks work instead of wanting handouts? The black unemployment rate is 10% which is only 4% higher than the national average. GOOGLE IT Most of animosity toward black people is caused by LIES, ASSUMPTIONS and OUTDATED STEREOTYPES!!!! Step into 2008!!!! Stop blaming blacks(or anyone else) for your problems!!!

Why do blacks get special treatment?

i am not black so maybe i can%26#039;t judge. from what i gather whites and blacks are very different culturally and that has been a reason networks such as BET have come into being. the mainstream %26quot;white%26quot; stuff isn%26#039;t as appealing to black viewers.
i get fed up of the images of %26quot;white women%26quot; that dominate the media. paris hilton? angelina jolie? i can%26#039;t stand any of these people. i am lesbian and i would love to see more lesbians on tv and in the media. people have a screwed up idea about what women are like PERIOD.|||I`m not good with politics or anything but Im white and I treat blacks same as I owuld treat a white person I don`t think skin changes anything I think we are all equal and I think it`s a load of s**t that people judge by skin i mean it`s JUST SKIN,just DIFFERENT COLORED SKIN and I wish racist people would get their head out of their asses and figure that out.So I am pretty much stating the obvious.|||Truely all are our brothers ,nothing wrong in giving them some considerations .|||Well, there is also a TV station for women (Oxygen, I believe), men (Spike T.V), sport%26#039;s fans (ESPN), etc. I think that many people sympathize with being in the minority, or empathize that people were treated cruelly for being a minority. Women still get paid 70 cents to the dollar compared to men, and racism is still very much a factor in the U.S. I think that it would be great if we could all look past the amount of melanin one has in his/her skin, the gender that one is, the religion that one believes in, or the sexual orientation that one has. Maybe that is part of having whites, Asians, Hispanics, etc. working at B.E.T. We can all come together at any workplace, regardless. Also, it depends on your age. I tutored for Project Literacy and two of the ladies who were in the program had been yanked out of school to pick cotton (they were black). There are many people who are still alive, who were and are victims of horrendous racism. If you do not understand, talk to a person who is gay, and listen to what they went through in high school. The people who blame a block of people for their problems, oddly enough probably feel downtrodden in some way also (feel sorry for those who are ignorant, and prove their stereotypes wrong - most of all help change their views). If we are truly enlightened, why should it matter that the NAACP supports Hillary? Or that white women support Obama? Assumptions be damned, let%26#039;s just all treat each other based on how we treat others.|||Are you a millionaire? No, so your in the same boat with the rest of us.|||I can somewhat see your point. I can%26#039;t understand how we can achieve equality when so many of us wish to parade our differences.
I respected and considered supporting Obama right up until he played the race card in S.C. Then, he was no longer running as an American... he was running as an African-American. If you want me to be color blind then stop making color an issue. I don%26#039;t see in these terms and I don%26#039;t see why so many others due. And blacks are just as guilty of it as whites are.
My Italian-American grandfather had it hard once he got off the boat. He could barely find a job and a decent home. But he worked hard and he worked long and he raised a respectable family. No one ever gave him a hand-out. He didn%26#039;t live off taxpayers money. He worked for it all himself.
And before anyone else here tries to remind me that my grandfather wasn%26#039;t kept as a slave, I will remind you of two things. Number 1, slavery was abolished over 120 years ago. No person alive was either a slave or a slave owner. Number 2, how many of you when you read about my Italian-American grandfather automatically assumed he was involved in La Cosa Nostra? Prejudism travels in more circles than just the black ones.
