(Notice how LIBS will call then McJob but can%26#039;t back it up with facts or credible links - Just Air America talking points)
Is the Bush Tax Cuts for working people responsible for this great NEWS??
On August 3, The Bureau Of Labor Statistics Released New Jobs Figures 鈥?92,000 Jobs Created In July. Since August 2003, more than 8.3 million jobs have been created, with more than 1.8 million jobs created over the twelve months ending in July. Our economy has now added jobs for 47 straight months, and the unemployment rate remains VERY VERY low at 4.6 percent.
Real GDP Grew At A Strong 3.4 Percent In The Second Quarter Of 2007. The economy has now experienced nearly six years of uninterrupted growth, averaging 2.7 percent a year since 2001.
Why is the BUSH ECONOMY creating so many JOBS?quick loan
You know, this question really puts me in a good mood!
Apparently, the Republicans are making the world a better place, and they%26#039;re still going to lose more seats in congress, and the presidency, to boot!
Thank you George W. Bush!
Why is the BUSH ECONOMY creating so many JOBS?
loan
The Clinton economy did just as well and he did not do it on the backs of the middle class.|||It is creating a lot of jobs no doubt, the problem is that those are all (for the most part at least) low wage jobs.|||Ya, flipping hamburgers, and mowing lawns.
Every other sector is down; way down. By the by, have you seen all the abandoned houses and %26quot;for sale%26quot; signs in your area? Oh, excuse me, trailers?|||Those jobs are payed for by creating poverty.Severe poverty is also up even amongst working people.Jobs don%26#039;t mean very much if your job doesn%26#039;t give you more than poverty.Who works hard every day deserves better.That%26#039;s the truth and no spins can ever change that.
The McClatchy analysis found that the number of severely poor Americans grew by 26 percent from 2000 to 2005. That%26#039;s 56 percent faster than the overall poverty population grew in the same period. McClatchy%26#039;s review also found statistically significant increases in the percentage of the population in severe poverty in 65 of 215 large U.S. counties, and similar increases in 28 states. The review also suggested that the rise in severely poor residents isn%26#039;t confined to large urban counties but extends to suburban and rural areas.
The plight of the severely poor is a distressing sidebar to an unusual economic expansion. Worker productivity has increased dramatically since the brief recession of 2001, but wages and job growth have lagged behind. At the same time, the share of national income going to corporate profits has dwarfed the amount going to wages and salaries. That helps explain why the median household income of working-age families, adjusted for inflation, has fallen for five straight years.|||Yeah, mostly low paying service jobs. Thank you Wal-Mart|||Because Bush is responding exactly how he should to Countercyclical Monetary and Fiscal Policy.|||1. Bush economy is in effect during the start of the Baby Boomers retiring.
2. It takes people to clean up the mess of a President.
You do realize that when they say %26quot;jobs created%26quot; it isn%26#039;t that they added the number of jobs to the ones already existing. This means that these are the positions that are open for hiring.
In HR, I learned from my readings that by 2006 (hmm. . .) there would be an estimated 142 million workers to fill 151 million jobs. This was due to the retirement of the Baby Boomer generation. Now, you are honestly going to tell me that the economy and job market is so great with the closings of numerous auto plants, and layoffs of United Auto Workers?
So much for having a mind of your own. . . How easy it must be for you - life looking through those rose colored glasses. . .|||Why? Because so many jobs have been outsourced to India since he became President.
Go George!|||It%26#039;s all part of the Great (or is it Vast?) Right Wing Conspiracy.
They call it Decimation Through Prosperity. Truly Evil!!!|||You can create 8.3m jobs, but that doesn%26#039;t make up for losing 10.3m the same period. It also doesn%26#039;t make up for importing foreigners to do those %26quot;newly created%26quot; jobs, especially when more people are joining the workforce than the jobs being created. Oh, and there%26#039;s no freaking way the economy in general has grown in the last 12 months when millions of people are going bankrupt and losing their homes due to the real estate market decline. But I%26#039;ll concede that many banks and large corporation execs have certainly gotten very rich since Bush was elected.|||War is responsible for a slight invrease of jobs, you know how jobs had skyrocketed after ww2 started. besides, bushs econemy is doing very exalent, while in michigan, the econemy is horrafying do to jennifer gramholm, who blames the bad state econemy on bush himself. ha|||SSHH they%26#039;re trying to get elected.|||Lower taxes for the working familie.|||The US is a %26quot;service based%26quot; economy. Translation %26quot;Da ya want fries with that?%26quot; The service sector is the largest and fastest growing section of he economy according to the Aug 3 report which you cite, but carefully edit.
High paying technological positions are to be found only in scatted areas but most of them are overseas. They are overseas for two reasons. Foreign workers will work cheaper, and the US does not graduate people with the necessary skills to do the work.
So while the rest of the world reads about a decline in job growth you report exactly the opposite situation. Doing so only confirms that you must have graduated with the people referred to in the paragraph above.|||They can call ALL the progress this country has made during the past 6 years anything they want.
The truth is that at its core, it is simply that - PROGRESS.
Bush is doing an excellent job overall.
Without a doubt, he is a great DECIDER. Mostly ,due to the fact that he isn%26#039;t part of the problem because he%26#039;s a REPUBLICAN.
Much much better than the one in office previously who decided it was best to defer our nation%26#039;s problems, ignore international threats, rape our military of its benefits and funding and stockpile money rather than take care of business - an act that is at this point costing our nation even more in its efforts to catch up.
Great question!|||Because he has this EVIL plan to make sure everyone has a job and provides a good life for their family.... He%26#039;s sooooo corrupt.|||Are these full time jobs with benefits?
Numbers look good on paper but so what?
The economy is growing along with the cost of living. Some of are spending more BECAUSE WE HAVE TO.|||Certainly a lot of jobs have been created....but most of them aren%26#039;t here in the USA, they%26#039;re in China or other 3rd world countries. The number of US jobs %26#039;created%26#039; seems to track the rise in the population. The US has added about 7 million people to the working population, so there really aren%26#039;t that many %26#039;more%26#039; jobs. As far as most of these jobs are concerned it%26#039;s possible that they don%26#039;t all fall into the %26#039;McJob%26#039; catagory, but few of them are exactly wealth builders for the American wage-earner. Good, substancial blue collar jobs went out of style when union membership began to slip....and a lot of middle class white collar jobs haven%26#039;t kept pace with the rise in price of essentials....education, housing, transportation, health insurance, groceries and energy. Certainly wealth is being created, but most of it goes to the already well off and to corporations....particularly corporations...that%26#039;s why they have so much cash available to buy each other out. You can cook the books anyway you want, but there%26#039;s still objective reality...and the reality is, most Americans are slipping backwards no matter how much the macro-economy %26#039;grows%26#039;!|||Too bad it isn%26#039;t a good figure for looking at the state of general American lives, and doesn%26#039;t account for:
- the increase in poverty
- the increase in personal and national debt
- the record number of declared bankruptcies
- mortgage foreclosures
- diminished buying power of the dollar
- the increased cost of basic goods and services
- the increased cost of health care
- the increased cost of college tuition
- the concentration of wealth in the top fraction of the population|||Not that I%26#039;m big on crediting presidents for short-term economic performance, but the Clinton economy created about 25 million jobs, way more than under Bush (many of Bush%26#039;s jobs were either lower-paying or government jobs btw). And that was AFTER an upper-income tax cut. Just saying that trying to credit his tax cuts for that is delusional.|||By creating wars everywhere!|||Don%26#039;t even go there with me Penelope.
I worked in an area that has traditionally had one of the HIGHEST per capita earnings in the U.S.A., and I can tell you that 30-40% of those jobs are EXACTLY %26quot;McJobs;%26quot; nothing more than low paying service industry jobs. You can%26#039;t fool me.
There has NOT been significant growth in manufacturing. I know. I%26#039;ve spent 33 years in that industry. I know the market.
Another indicator of earning levels is home sales, and that has been in an all-time slump for about a year now.
Keep wearing those rosy glasses.
